The era of email marketing left as fast as it came but I want to talk about it now because it is not as old fashioned as you might think. It still remains one of the best ways to advertise on the internet. It is simple to understand and to put in practice and more importantly, you don’t need to do it yourself, you can pay someone and have it done easily, with few costs.

When talking about any kind of form of internet marketing, there is just one thing that you should keep count of, when advertising online, it is best if your business has a website – I always recommend having a website for your firm, but in this case it is more important than ever.

Why does is it so important to have a website? The reasons are endless, but in the case of email marketing, I can put it down in two:

1. When the potential clients read the email, they need to have a landing page, where to go from there on. An email used for marketing should never be just text without any other links where they can bounce to.
2. It’s better to send the emails directly from your personal site, increasing the brand loyalty, this way you will also have a data-base with the emails in cause.

And last but definitely not least, what should such an email contain? Anything you want it to, as long as it’s relevant, you can communicate about the newest updates that the site is having, newsletters with new products, promotions, coupons, special offers, contents and so on. There is just one golden rule in email marketing: Do Not Spam! Do not send too many emails, do not go off topic, keep it simple, relevant and don’t send them out too often, 2-3 times per week should do.
